Description of the Trail
The Riverside Trail is a S.P.U.R. project. It follows the east fork of the middle fork of the Whitewater River from North 12th & J Streets to North 24th Street. Eventually, the trail will reach Hayes Arboretum on Richmond's east side. The trail is mulch only, with the lower areas being somewhat subject to washouts. Take care during high water. This is a historical trail in that it crosses a bridge just below the old Morton Lake dam. From the bridge you can observe the hole blown in the dam to drain the lake during the early 1900's.
